Turn on Web Services enables your printer to securely connect to the Internet with web-based printing services, including HP ePrint cloud printing, HP Instant Ink delivery services, and HP Printer Apps.

Printers with a touchscreen or LCD display
- If your printer is connected to a wired connection, monitor if the cable and the lights on the Ethernet printer port are on / off. The green light of the connexion should be solid, and the orange light must flash when the cable is linked.
- If your printer is connected to a wireless link, make sure that the wireless feature is on and that the HP Setup Envy 4502 printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
- Switch on the HP ePrint icon or button on your control panel.
- If your control panel does not have an HP ePrint icon or button, go to Web Services Setup, Network Setup or Wireless Settings to access the Web Services option.
- If you see a Web Services Summary screen or a linked status, Web Services will be on.
- Trail the on-screen instructions to switch on Web Services. If you are requested to update the firmware, select OK.
Printers without a touchscreen or LCD display
- Ensure that the printer is connected to a wired or wireless network with an internet connection.
- Print a network configuration or self-test page to find the IP address of the printer used to access the EWS webpage.
- For instructions on printing a Network Configuration or Self-Test page, go to our hp.com/envy4502 website. Index your printer model, and then scan the appropriate file to print a configuration page or to print a self-test page, which is the responsibility of the printer model.
- Locate the IP address of the printer on the Network Setup or Self-Test page.
- Connect to the Internet on your computer
- Type the IP address of the printer in the browser address bar, and then click Enter.
- If you have a Web Security Certificate on your Internet browser, click Proceed.
- The EWS printer details page shows that the printer is on the same network as the machine.
- Select Online Services from the EWS web page
- If a Web Services tab is not open, your printer does not support Web Services.
- If you see a Web Services Summary tab, Web Services is on.
- Please follow the on-screen instructions to switch to Web Services. If you can not turn to Online Services, ensure that the firmware of the printer is updated.
123.hp.com/setup 4502 – Turning Off Web Services
You can switch off Web Services from the printer control panel or from the Embedded Web Server. Read the section below that fits the form of your printer control panel to switch on Web Services.
If you are presently using web-connected printing services, the following services and features may not work when you turn off Web Services:
- HP ePrint: delete your ePrint printer email address and sender list.
- HP Printer Apps: Remove all Printer Apps.
- HP Instant Ink: Eliminates the printer from your Linked account, but monthly enrollment and billing proceeds.
Devoid of Web Services, the HP server can no longer connect to the printer to track ink levels and order new ink cartridges, and the printer may stop printing.
To continue using Instant Ink, you need to turn to Web Services and then follow the instructions on the information page to link your printer to HP Connected.
Printers with a touchscreen or LCD display
Turn off Web Services directly from the control panel of your printer.
- Click the HP ePrint icon or button on your printer control panel, and then press Settings.
- If your printer control panel does not have an HP ePrint icon or button, go to Web Services Setup, Network Setup or Wireless Settings to access the Web Services menu.
- Choose To Turn Off, Disable, or Remove
Printers without a touchscreen or LCD display
- Print a network configuration or self-test page to access the IP address of the printer to access the EWS web page.
- Locate the IP address of the printer on the Network Setup or Self-Test page.
- Connect to the Internet on your computer
- Type the IP address of the printer in the address bar of the browser, and then click Enter.
- If the security certificate of the website is shown in the Internet browser, click Proceed.
- The information page for the printer exhibits of the EWS.
- On the EWS Web page, select the Web Services tab, and then choose Remove Web Services from the Web Services Settings tab.
- Select Remove Web Services to turn off Web Services.
